Jennifer Anne Garner was born on April 17, 1967, in Houston, Texas. Her father, John Vernon Garner Jr., was a Dallas County sheriff’s deputy who was also an alcoholic. After her parents’ divorce when she was three years old, Jennifer moved with her mother and stepfather to Midland, Texas where she pursued theater at the local community college.
Gardner’s second stage role came as the lead in “The Foreigner”, followed by her first major film role as the love interest in “The Last Boy Scout”. She has since starred in several films including “10 Things I Hate About You” (1999), “A Beautiful Mind” (2001), and “Crash” (2004).
